Careers at Cocoplum Design Studio

Working at Cocoplum

We are a small Sydney studio designing interiors for hotels, resorts and residential developments, with our own manufacturing arm in Boxareno. The work runs from early strategy through to what actually gets installed, so people here follow a project end to end rather than hand it on.

Why Work at Cocoplum Design Studio?

Design Backed by Science

Our decisions start from research on how people respond to space rather than from what is currently fashionable. If you want to understand why a room works, and to be able to explain it to a client, this is a good place to learn how.

Design and Manufacturing Under One Roof

Through Boxareno you work alongside the factory floor: custom joinery, FF&E, metalwork, stone and upholstery. Very few design roles offer that much proximity to how things are actually made.

Projects with Range

Hotels and resorts, residential developments and individual homes. The work spans concept, documentation, FF&E and delivery, so no two projects ask the same things of you.

Australian Studio, International Projects

We are based in Sydney and work throughout Australia, with projects delivered across the Middle East, Europe and Asia. That means exposure to how hospitality briefs differ between markets, and to the logistics of delivering into them.

A Small Team

You work directly with the founder and with specialists across design, manufacturing and delivery. Responsibility comes early, because there is nowhere for it to hide.

Current Opportunities

We do not have a specific role advertised at the moment, but we are always glad to hear from people whose work fits what we do. We keep applications on file and get in touch when something suitable comes up.

How to Apply

Send your CV and portfolio using the form below. Tell us briefly what you are working on now and what interests you about designing this way. That tells us more than a cover letter does.

What We Look For

Curiosity about why spaces affect people, and enough rigour to follow that curiosity into the research. Care about how things are made, not only how they are drawn. And the willingness to own a project rather than a task.
