For example, relying on environmental physiology data, we often specify an optimal wood surface coverage of approximately 45% in guest suites. Hotel Alba, Caracas, Venezuela — Design & Build
The Scope: Complete renovation, completed in 2022, of a 700-room, 5-star city hotel in the business centre of Caracas, including design, fit-out works, MEP works, and all fixed and loose FF&E.
The Approach: Delivered as a single, vertically integrated scope from design through installation, giving the owner one point of accountability for brand standard and delivery timeline.
Rixos Premium Bodrum, Muğla, Türkiye — FF&E Design & Manufacture
The Scope: Fixed and mobile FF&E for the 5-star, 409-room resort (54,000m² site, 107,000m² service area): fitness and play centre furniture, villa and balcony furniture, amphitheatre woodwork, water sports and sun-bathing platforms, and deck and general massive parquets — completed in a 3-month manufacturing and installation window.

Can our hotel stay open during the interior works?
Yes, we specialise in phased commercial refurbishments designed for zero operational downtime. To achieve this, we use a hybrid, modular construction methodology. By manufacturing compliant architectural sections, such as exterior cladding or interior spatial modules, off-site at our Boxareno facility, we assemble elements on-site like precision components. This compresses construction timelines and minimises contractor footprint. We balance advanced CNC automation with bespoke human craftsmanship, using whichever yields the superior finish. While we recommend this accelerated modular approach, we remain flexible and can execute designs via traditional on-site construction methods if preferred.
What is the difference between a soft and full refurbishment?
A soft refurbishment, typically every 5-7 years, involves updating FF&E, wall coverings and floor finishes without altering the physical architecture. A full refurbishment, every 12-15 years, includes structural interventions, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) updates and complete spatial reconfigurations.
How do you manage commercial FF&E lead times and quality control?
Unlike traditional design studios, Cocoplum operates a vertically integrated model. Through our owned manufacturing facility, Boxareno, we produce bespoke, commercial-grade furniture in-house, giving us direct oversight of supply chain logistics and phased delivery schedules. For specialised elements outside our manufacturing scope, such as premium tapware, we draw on established relationships with top-tier global suppliers. Clients always retain the flexibility to take our finalised designs to an open tender if they prefer an independent procurement route.
